Watch: Emma Approved

My favourite Jane Austen book has always been Emma (I know, controversial opinion), and my obsession with the movie Clueless just furthers my love. There’s something about meddling Emma and her match-making obsession with love that has always drawn me in. So when I heard that the creators of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries were making a new web-series based on Emma, I was beyond excited.

Fast forward to today, and we have the first instalment of “Emma Approved”. So far, it looks interesting. Not sure if it will be as good as TLBD, but I love the story so much I’m willing to stick it out.

Give it a watch, and let me know what you think!

  1. There are a lot of Austen modernizations around at the moment! I recently finished reading a reimagined version of Sense and Sensibility. I am an enthusiastic Jane Austen fan and I was skeptical about a modern retelling of her novels. But it was actually pretty enjoyable, not as good as the original of course, but not bad. Apparently, ‘The Austen Project’ are publishing retellings of all of her six novels within the next couple of years. Curtis Sittenfeld is rewriting Pride and Prejudice which I look forward to reading. Have you read any of Sittenfeld’s novels? Based on your posts here, I think you would like them, especially The Man of My Dreams (not as soppy as it sounds! I really identified with the main character) and Prep.

Thanks for the link to “Emma Approved”. It will provide me with a perfect excuse for procrastinating!
