Toong and I went to see the Toy Story Double Feature the other day and it was amazingly epic. I grew up knowing and loving the Toy Story films, I even had a talking Woody doll, so when I heard not only was a Toy Story 3 coming out, but that they were releasing the first two in a 3D double feature, I was beyond excited. I hadn’t seen the films for many, many years and had forgotten much of what happened in them. The only scene I remember vivadly was the scene in Toy Story 2 when Jessie has a flashback showing her owner, Emily, abandoning her. When I was little that scene used to make me cry. /blush. Of course, as soon as the films started the memories all came flooding back and it was like there hadn’t been years in between viewings.
Seeing them now with older eyes made me realise all the innuendos and double meanings that obviously, you wouldn’t understand at two. Like when Buzz sees a girl (I can’t remember which one exactly) and his wings shoot out. Or when Woody calls him ‘Buzz Light-Beer’. Definitely made me giggle.
You should totaly go and see it, especially if you haven’t for a few years. I don’t think it’s out for much longer, and it’s only at cinemas with 3D theatres. It’s not too expensive, I think it was about $13 for a student ticket, plus an extra dollar for the 3D glasses (or, if you want to be fancy, you can buy special edition Aviator glasses for $15. They’re gold rimmed. So fancy. Hahaha).
Toy Story 3 hits cinemas in mid-late June, and I so can’t wait.
