Would I remember them?

This morning (well, it was closer to lunch time) I finished reading The Adoration Of Jenna Fox. It was an extremely weird book and I don’t really reccommend it to anyone, unless 10% human coma survivors are your kind of thing. After I finished reading it, I watched an episode of Smallville about a girl in a coma. Both these things got me thinking; if I were to have an accident and fall into a coma, what would happen? In Jenna Fox she forgot everything about herself, but in Smallville she woke up after six years and remembered everything. If I suddenly woke up, would I remember my family and friends? Would I remember my hatred of seafood and most red meats? Would I still love the Jonas Brothers? Would I remember this blog?
The other thing that I thought about was going into a coma and waking up years into the future. How would I cope with all the changes? Would I adjust to them easily, or would it take months of therapy and rehab?
I hope I’ll never have to find out the answers to these questions, either first hand or via a family member or friend being in a coma. It would be the scariest thing ever; not knowing if they were ever going to wake up. My thoughts and prayers are with people who have to live with the reality of a coma every day, not just reading/watching about them.
Speaking about books regarding teenage coma patients though, I really want to read Memoirs Of A Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin. It looks like a more normal glimpse into the aftermath than Jenna Fox was. Has anyone read it?
