Seriously, Best Friends Forever…

When someone is in the limelight, we often assume that they’re just friends with other celebrities. You see them having a coffee with someone else famous, they’re automatically either best friends or going out. What we don’t think about is all their friends from before they were famous. Surely they still keep in contact, catch up, stay besties? Not everyone is lucky enough to have a true famous best friend (looking at you Demi and Selena), but most of them do have a best friend somewhere, lurking behind the scenes, not in the public eye. When I started listening to Taylor Swift’s music a few weeks ago, I fell in love with her song fifteen, which is about her high school experience. There’s a line in it that goes ‘You sit in class next to a red head named abigail and soon enough you’re best friends’. I didn’t really pay much attention to it, but then this morning I started following her on twitter and one of her tweets was ‘caught up with abigail…’ and it made me realise that woah, abigail is a real person. Her best friend. No matter who the media says has that honour, it is really her. A normal person who knew her before she was famous, not someone in it for the attention. I googled her and abigail and this youtube vid to fifteen came up. It’s full of pictures of the two of them, and other pictures from her high school days. Enjoy:

So yeah, the point of this post is to say that just because someone is famous, it doesn’t mean they’ve automatically left their old life behind, and we need to remember that…
